I stopped and looked at it on the way home from work. Its missing the front
bumper but otherwise appears complete, and mostly unmolested. That's the
good news.

I checked the cab corners on the passenger side, but not the driver side.
The two I checked are pretty bad. The floor has rust holes in it. The
rocker panels are rusted through. The bottoms of the doors are worse than
those on my suburban and the doors were my primary objective.

It is a 3/4-ton, or at least it has 8-lug wheels on three corners, the
fourth has a hub cap on it. Also it has an open drive line, but has all the
other indicators that its an early truck.

The owner wants $100 which isn't really a lot, but I'm feeling hesitant. It
appears to have the parts others have expressed an interest in, but right
now I'm going to need a little persuasion that its worth the trouble of
dragging it home and taking it apart.

I prefer the 3/4 ton frame because the front is exactly the same dimensions
as the 1/2 ton and the rear frame rails are closer together so putting on
wider tires is not a problem
unless you are restoring stock all the suspension will be replaced anyway
.all the body parts are the same

 will turn out OK.
