Maybe I could do my frame and suspension work on the 3/4-ton frame, and then
move the body off my suburban onto that frame when the times comes...

I prefer the 3/4 ton frame because the front is exactly the same dimensions
as the 1/2 ton and the rear frame rails are closer together  so putting on
wider tires is not a problem
unless you are restoring stock all the suspension will be replaced anyway
.all the body parts are the same
