Sounds like the Gimmy natives are getting restless. I don't some of them
realize how unique some of the GMC stuff was. In the pre-chevV/8 days us
Chevy racers realized there was better things that could be bolted in our
Chevy's, these were known to us as Government Money Configuration parts
[GMC]. As associations like NHRA allowed any stock engine configuration in
modified divisions, the search began. I soon discovered my dipper rod 1950
Chevy could not compete with these look alike configurations. So as this
Gimmy person was complaining these unique parts were harder to find. We
discovered thru research, thru boneyards , the Gov't Money Config [270
Military GMC] was the ultimate. These eng had heavy blocks, easily bored to
4", they had steel cranks, and the heads had larger ports and valves than
the civilian model. So these GMC people shouldn't belittle us poor Chevy
people we are only trying to salvage what was mass produced by civilian
money.
