...after three years, it finally rolled under it's own power.
First, a note of thanks....to the list...for your ongoing banter and
advice...particularly went thing looked bleakest...behind schedule (isn't
everyone?) and over budget (budget?..ha ha)...parts everywhere (and the one
I need is missing...and all those 'extra' parts...how do parts multiply when
left alone in a box?)....didn't think it'd ever be finished (are they ever?)
To those of you who are at that stage now....keep on going...the smile still
plastered on my face will make it worth it for you too.
The combined knowledge and enthusiasism for these oletrucks (stock and
rods...and even GMCs ;-) will keep the going for many years.
...went to the Payette Cruise on Saturday....it wasn't quite finished but it
had been my goal so it was going if I had to drag it there...fun time had by
all.
Now if only I can make sure that those texicans find don't find out that
there's one of these truck at every other farm in Idaho.....let 'em pick
over those Kansan and Coloradan rustbuckets (it's a relative term).

I think I'm going to have to do the same thing you did (fabricating my own
cross member) as I can't find anybody that sells one for front mount V8
engines
on 1947-1953 chevy trucks. The ones that I have found are for side mounted
engines.
