the only reason to have a 2 stage is to make the motor run easier-
each stage provides maybe a 75# boost.
so first stage pumps up to 75# and its OUTPUT goes to teh INPUT of the
second stage where it takes that 75# and boosts it up to its rating
then send it to the tank.

bottom line-read your manual of your tools. they will give a
reccomended pressure operation as well as a CFM usage at that pressure-
figure out how many tool you run continuously at one time, add up all
the CFM, figure out teh mas pressure of the highest pressure tool,
get teh compressor that will put out that CFM at that pressure.

bet most tools run 4-6CFM @90(max)
sandblasters and DA use maybe 9-12? again-read your manual or goto the
website and read teh usage.
