Since everybody else is relating their experiences, I'll throw in my 2
Euro's worth.  Last year, I was having problems with a leaky Mk1 fuel
tank.  During that period, I must have had the sender out at least a
dozen times.  During the complete episode (including replacing the
tank), I never had a leak with the original gasket.  In fact it is still
in there now.
