Convertible tops

Hi all-
Should a soft top on a 1500 fold all the way behind the seats (out of
sight)?  Is there a cover to go over this area?  Do any of the snaps
need to be undone to lower the top, or just the two clamps over the
windshield?  Can the top be lowered while sitting in the car?
