Not absolutely completely, but pretty close.

Yes, and it makes for a nice finished look.

To properly lower and fold the top, four snaps on each side (behind door 
glass, on "tonneau" panel itself), and any and all snaps on the inside 
holding top cloth to the frame should be undone.

Yes, but like dropping it down without undoing the snaps, it will greatly 
SHORTEN the life of the top, and it won't fold down nearly as well. If 
you want a top that folds that simply, you need to buy either a Miata 
(well, the tops do work pretty easily, don't they) or a Herald! :-)
