Try loosening the engine mounting nuts that fit to the front engine plate, these
are on a slot so you may be able to push the engine back a little bit to
compensate for the gap. Failing that, you may be able to mount the other end of
the rubber mounts on the inside of the turret instead of the outside, that'll
move the whole transmission back a small amount! Not sure if that bit makes
sense, but I understand what I mean!!! :-)

try removing it, then attacking it slightly with an angle grinder or a file if
you feel macho, that should help it to fit!!!

Not had the problems, with a car like mine I don't need any more, but I have
made a couple of suggestions!!! :-)
