Hi,

Just to say I have fixed the clutch and it's now 400% better than it ever
was.

My old driven plate was burnt but still thick, and the diaphram spring was
warn.

The pin had fallen through which is why I lost the clutch after a pinging
sound a mile before.

I got myself a genuine Borg and Beck 3 peace clutch kit for 70 pound. Plus
a new tolerance ring, and pin with cap to stop it falling through. I also
got some new brass bushes for the bell housing.

My engin endfloat is 11.8 thou accourding to my dialgadge, but I cant do
anything with that at the moment so it can wate.

There is absolutly no sign of the very bad clutch judder I have always had,
thanks to the new clutch pin bushes I put in the bellhousing.

The engin bites somwhere in the top quater of the engin travel, and right
down the bottom you hardly need any pressure to hold the pedal.

It's much lighter, and because I was very thougher with meths, and not even
getting the grease from a clean hand on the clutch surfaces it dosent burn.

So I would say, just buying the clutch plate and bearing is a waist of
money. 35 pound clutch disk + 15 pound bearing + 40 pound for the driven
plate, compaired to 70 pound for a brand new original borge and beck 3 in
one kit, where everything is matched.

So I am absolutly extaic about the results it's 4 times better than I had
expected, can hardly wate untill I have blead the clutch properly, reduced
the play in the linkage, and sorted the engin end float.

Thanks to everyone who replyed to me, all I can say if you have clutch
problems, don't try and save money, get it sorted.

James
