Work is progressing nicley on the electric Sptifire conversion. The tub
is off the frame and the kids are disassembling the suspension for
rebuild. We will need to move the front crossmember forward a little to
clear the electric motor but I don't think thats a big deal.

We are getting ready to build the battery boxes. As you can imagine
battery (weight) placement can be crucial. Since this car will be used
a lot for autocross we would like any suggestions on weight
distribution.

Do you have an idea what the weight distribution is, or should
be, on a typical autocross Spit? We are using small batteries, 13 x
33lbs, and the Spitfire offers a lot of options for battery placement.
In addition the motor weighs 107 lbs. Have thought about putting the
motor and 4 batteries up front, about 240 lbs. The remaining 300 lbs
immediately infront of and behind the rear spring. Figuring another 100

lbs for misc stuff, we would add 640 lbs to the car. It weighed 1380
after we removed the engine and other stuff, so final weight should be
2020, a heavy pig for a Spit, but without gutting the interior we've
taken off everything we can. Even though its heavy for a Spit its very
light for a ev!

Any suggestions on weight distribution to maximize handling?
