The GT6 differential is *virtually* part for part identical to a Spitfire
diff of the same year.  So, the GT6 diff is no stronger or weaker in that
respect, then that of the Spitfires, again of the same year.  Having said
that, and knowing the weakness inherent in the diff itself, it should
explode slightly sooner than a 3:89 of the same vintage because of the
slightly higher loading imparted by the increased leverage the higher ratio
imposes  That's about it.  Nobody can really predict when (or if) it will
fail.  If not abused these will more likely wear out then break, and like
anything else if severely abused, will break sooner than later - I had one
(GT6 3.27) explode within three weeks after I installed it in my, ahem,
"slightly tweaked :-)" Spitfire -
