ELECTRONIC IGNITION - t'is or t'isn't

I asked a few days ago about putting electronic ignition into my 77 
spit.  By the way, I did not properly thank those who responded.  Thank you.

No for the interesting twist.

My repair book says that from 75 on, US models all had electronic ignition.

I may not know a lot about ignition, electronic or otherwise, but I can 
recognize points when I see them.

It looks like I have mechanical ignition and it originally had electronic.
