Hi Paul
If your carbs have the wax stat jets, huge metal blob on the bottom, you
should consider changing these for the earlier normal jets with the red
plastic bottom. The idea of the wax stat jets was that when the engine bay,
carbs and induction air warmed up the wax pellet in the bottom of the jet
would expand and lean out the mixture a bit, needles to say these work very
erratically if at all an probably cause more pollution than they were
supposed to prevent!
