Hi there all

Well, as you Northern Hemisphere folks are starting to see the last weeks of
beautiful sunny weather, the sun is just starting to show its face down here
in New Zealand. So of course, its time to speed things up a little and
really make an effort to get the Spit back on the road!

My biggest concern at the moment is buying a new hood. I was quoted US$500
locally for a custom made Double Duck canvas hood and kinda balked at that!
So, what do you all recommend in pre-made hoods? In terms of materials, I
really want to go for stayfast canvas as I've heard it won't shrink nearly
as much as as vinyl (the fate of my last hood), is more flexible and looks
nicer - hope so, it costs more! Do any of you have canvas hoods? How do
they really perform? And, what benefits does mohair have over either canvas
or vinyl?

Does anyone have any recommendations for hood manufacturers? I've checked
out Vicky B and Moss but wasn't really that impressed. I did however find a
UK company called Prestige Auto Trim Products Ltd
(www.prestigeautotrim.com). Have any of you used them? I recommend
checking out their website if you haven't already. They have a very
impressive range of quality hoods, covers, carpet and interior kits.

Well that's a lot of questions really isn't it. Thanks in advance to anyone
who can answer any of them.

Kind regards,

Paul McKey
