Brad,
I don't think that they were glued.  The process of the covers sticking to the 
foam is likely due to the aging process and the heat of
the sun.  I put Houndstooth covers on my 1500 seats without any adhesive and 
have had no problems in 3 years.

I don't know about the headliner, since I don't have a hard top.
