        This can be caused by the car running rich.  You might have the
        wrong size jets from your rebuilt kit.  I had the same problem
        with mine when I rebuilt my HS2s.  The jets that came with the
        kits are black and has an inner diameter of .10" instead of
        .09".

         If you do have the wrong size jets you can try the following.
         To lean the mixture setting you can pull the needle out of
         its seat by about 1/32".  This will lean out the mixture 
         through its entire range.

         The front and rear jets are not suppose to be the same and
         the correct needle for the HS2 with a 1500 engine are AN.
         I don't have the correct jet part numbers on hand but if
         no one on list the supplies you with it just let me know
         and I'll look it up.
