Same engine, different Spec!!!

This could be answered by the division of the company at the time.  Since the 
two divisions were separate, they were free to set their
own tolerances and that one might have been deemed by MG to be too wide.

I personally agree that the Spitfire Spec was a bit too wide.  I like to apply 
the closer tolerances of the early Spitfire engines to
The Thrust washers of the 1500.
