Hi all,
Sure is very quiet at the mo, I guess all us british listers are quiet
due to the struggle against the monsoon and a rail system in complete
turmiol!
Just tried out the spit with new AAT needles to complement the free flow
manifold and Air filters, what a change! free reving to 5500rpm...
Have also been looking further into Supercharging the spit. After
looking through the literature on the web, which incidentally shows both
a Triumph herald (spit engine) and vitesse (GT6 engine) with a
supercharger. I think that the initial price tag of 1200 pounds can be
cut drastically.
The way I see it you need.
1) HS4 carburetter (got 2 of these already)
2) inlet manifold for a single carb (plenty of these over here from
re-imported USspec cars, hence V. Cheap)
3) Shorrock Supercharger (800 pounds new:( but checking out the back
issues of practical classics they come up every so often second hand for
200 pounds.
4) manifold from carb to supercharger, supercharger to inlet manifold
(This would have to be fabricated specially but shouldn't too expensive)

5) sundry valves etc from shorrock specailist (100 pounds max!)
6) double pulley to replace one on the end of the crank (Does this
already exist for smog gear cars?)
7) sundry backets.
So quite a possibility.
What do you all think.
Cheers
Tim
PS: anyone going to Sandown for the Triumph parts day?
