Depends on what you want to do with it. My street Mk1 has a 1500 with twin
SU's, Full synchro OD gearbox and 3.89 differential. It is
great for highway travel and doesn't have to stick to the 55 or so mph that
most Mk1's do!
If you are looking at concours, keep it stock!
