Mark,
I just replaced the brake MC on my '73. It works allot better. The brake
pedal used to go almost all the way to the floor. I lived with that for a
few years until now, when I saw a little brake fluid under the MC I knew I
had to do some work. The new MC lets the pedal go about half way down
before it puts noticeable pressure on the pads. If I were to replace the
hoses it would probably respond even better. You're lucky, Moss sells the
MC for your model much cheaper than the one for my '73. I think you can get
one for about $110. When you add fluid, you should use Castrol. Castrol
doesn't have any alcohol in it which tends to degrade the seals on these
LBC's.
