Well, things are going well with my motor semi-rebuild, but I've hit a snag
with the flywheel.

The flywheel that goes with the replacement motor has a good deal of
surface rust including the surface that goes up against the clutch plate.

JD suggested that I have it turned by a machine shop, but the local shop
doesn't have the specs for the allowable thickness of the flywheel.

Does anyone have the specs? It's a 1973 Spitfire flywheel.

I looked in my shop manual. Could not find anything. The Haynes manual
just says to have it machined enough to make it smooth.

Would it make sense to polish that surface or use something like sandpaper
or a wire wheel to just remove the rust?

Can you tell I am beyond the limits of my comprehension?

Thanks
