Fred,

I went out and looked at my '73 last night. I don't see
these parts on this car. I looked at my parts breakdown,
and they are listed, although on plate 09-45 instead of
the one you said. My book covers through model year '74.

My Spit is original as far as the body goes with the
exception of the front valences, so I know that they
weren't removed somewhere along the line.

I think I have every book and parts catalogue for the Spit,
but I can't find a reason for this part, or how it fits.

It is ZKC 1256 (LH) and ZKC 1257 (RH) described as:"bracket
spacer under horn mounting bracket LH" and same for RH. It
is shown, our of place, on page 09-02 of the Spitfire 1500
(1975) parts book.

What is it for? How does it fit? If it fits between the
horn bracket and the frame, the only way I can see for it to
fit is with the the sloping, offset piece stuck under,
inside the front bumper underrider. It makes putting things
together very difficult. Then what is its purpose?

Other than the fact that I am going for originality, I
wouldn't be bothered with it. Any suggestions?

Cheers, Fred
