Did you replace the float valves as well as the floats? Sounds like you
have a sticking float valve which is not usually caused by a sunk float,
but instead the valve itself is worn and sticking. There are cases where
the float might hang though if it is badly adjusted or bent. New floats
and valves would be cheap insurance.
