I agree it is possible to "Blow" a Spitfire.  That is what my study in adding a 
supercharger showed.

If you Supercharge it, you will likely "blow" it up!  :)

But seriously, the cost of doing it is very high in terms of r&d and the 
resulting reliability is very poor compared to that of any modern engine that
would deliver as much power with Fuel injection rather than a blower.
