Joe,

As near as I can tell, it's a pure SCAM.  According to some articles
we've seen, eventually they either get your bank account or credit card,
or phone number, and start running up charges.  Or, they get you to fly
there, and hold you for ransom.  Apparently, a couple of people have even
been killed.

I've gotten probably 2 dozen the last month or so, sure is a lot of very
rich people in Nigeria.  *S*

So, AVOID it!!!!!
