The plus side is, that most states have made in illegal to send spam mail.
Fines usually range in the hundreds of dollars for each email. That times X
amount of emails makes it worth it. Since they won't bother showing up for
court you win be default. Of course this is assuming you could ever get
them to pay, and that is if you can even get them identified.
A few people have made a chunk of change doing this, the rest just hit
delete.
