There are two types of stud remover that I use, internal and external.
If any of the stud is still 'above ground' you can use the external one
which looks like this: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=040210057
it has a set of cams inside which grip onto the stud and self tighten as you
apply pressure to it using your wrench.

If there is nothing above the surface or you can't get the external stud
extractor on it you will need to drill a hole down the middle of the stud
and use an interternal stud extractor which looks like a tap (as in tap and
die set) it has a left hand thread and looks like this:
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=040213030&r=2080&g=111

Before you use either tool its normally handy to use dismantling fluid which
should lubricate the threads and make it easier to undo.

Hope this is of use,
Philip

| Hello y'all,
| Quick question...what is the best way to remove exsisting head studs
from the block? Two of mine are broken and i just ordered a new set, so i
need to get the old ones out.
| Thanks a bunch,
