Barry, since I do this a lot ( UK office, family and just called Rimmer in fact)

No 1 for long distance, that's only for inside US.

so it's 011 - 44 - abcd - efghijk

local UK code is probably 0abcd - efghijk so you drop teh leading zero of the
UK supplied number.

Hope that helps.

Alan

Help - I seem to be a dunce when ever I have to call overseas - I guess I
just don't do it enough.
Do you (in the USA) dial the 1 first for long distance?
the fax number I have is 011 44 1992 xxxx
Would I actually dial 1011441992xxxx, or do I drop the (0) and dial
111441992xxxx or do I not drop the zero (seam to me that when I did this
last I did) but I have tried about 8 different ways and can't seem to get
through.
For you UK listers, does the number of digits sound right or am I missing one?
I am trying to get through to Andy (Wilshire?) for an article he is doing
for Triumphworld magazine -
Thanks for any help -
