Whoops, I forgot to mention:
the +ve feed comes from the fusebox, the fuse with brown on one side and two
purple wires on the other. The other purple wire goes to (as far as I can
make out) the headlamp flasher switch, so if you flash the main beam and you
don't get the blue main beam warning light come on then it's likely this fuse
or its contacts.
