Thanks everyone for your help.
A good nights sleep to refuel the patience tank will
do wonders.
Now all that is left is to reinstall it on the car,
swap old bushings from stock shocks to new air shocks
and it will be ready.
I ended up using my bench vice to held everything
together tight and a prybar to move the lower spring
to free up the metal pivot sleeve and it went together
finally (add some cussing, spitting and drinking of
course).
