[Spit] Moving Steering Rack

Fellow Listers;
   
  During a recent minor overall of the front end on my '77 Spitfire, I noticed 
that when I turned the steering wheel from side to side, the steering rack 
moved a little bit.  Thinking the rack mount bushings were worn, I replaced 
them with poly ones.  After installing them and tightening everything up, I 
again noticed a slight amount of movement in the rack when the steering wheel 
is turned from side to side.
   
  Any ideas on where I should go from here?  Do the actualy mount clamps wear 
out??
