Last I heard, in 92, Rex Urban from Salem, Oregon was the sole
distributor of the Healey Frogeye ($20,000 US turnkey) The company
Healey Frogeye LTD originates from the Isle of White, England.
They have copyrights to use the Healey name on their Frogeye model glass
fibre (as they call it across the pond) I have seen this car and it is
what the Bugeye would have evolved into. Nice ride, 1300 A+ engine,5
speed, safty stuff, fancy frame (for future frame off restorations) no
top, side curtains, etc. Not a bad price if you are considering a Jap
Jellybeen drop top.
I do not know if the car is still available, used to be you had to send
the front cross member of any year Spridget to have one made, not so
much in the States but from England. Rex took care of the cross members
on this side.
I don't know what or if Rex Urban still deals with these cars, he was
also the importer of the Arkley kit.
