Dan,
They are the company that owns the Rover group and has the rights to the 
names MG, Rover, Triumph, Austin-Healey and Riley. So think of them as 
the successor company to the one that built your car.
One of the first comments made by BMW boss Bernd Pischetsrieder after 
they took over Rover was "I'd like to see Austin-Healey back" and there 
were rumors that they were thinking of again building a Bugeye Sprite in 
2000, of course if the VW Bug is an example of this maybe that's not a 
good idea.
