About ten years ago I took a round trip from Portland, Or , San Diego,
Massachusetts, Vermont, back to Portland in my 1275 Morris. Took lots of
blue highways, ate in non chain restaurants, stayed in non chain motels
and with friends, saw lots of great sights, met tons of wonderful people
in this country. Had absolutely no car troubles on the trip.

The only disconcerting thing that happened on the whole trip was in Ohio
on the turnpike when I was bored with driving down the green tunnel. I
stopped at one of those monster Burger Kings with 500 seats in them and
brought a book with me to read as I drank a cup of coffee. Remember now,
there was at least a hundred people in there. A guy walked up to me,
after coming through the door, tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if
I owned the Morris outside. I said yes in a startled way. He said I
left the headlights on and then left. To this day I have no idea how I
could be picked out of a crowd as an LBC driver! Go figure!
