When is the overheating occurring - traffic or highway speeds?

Traffic overheating means you need a better fan (which might mean electric).
Highway overheating (at least over 35mph) means you need a better radiator or
more air flow to the one you already have.

The water pump and pulley you use can make things better or worse as can how
the cooling system is configured (ie go for a blanking sleeve and keep the
heater tap open with the bypass plugged).

The engine in my Sprite develops over a 100 bhp and in as hot as English
weather you can get whether in traffic, the open road, twisty roads using
lots of revs or the chassis dyno it never overheats or misses a beat. The
car has a competition radiator (try Tom Colby in California) no heater,
blanking sleeve and blocked bypass with a big pump and pulley. The bonnet is
also louvred to let heat/air flow out.
