Chuck,

I envy you. I've always loved planes growing up, especially WW2 aircraft.
The P-51 Allison v-12 is much 'smoother and quiter', than the rolls royce 
'griffin' engine, but the Rolls engine put out a lot more HP. I've never had 
the 
pleasure of riding in either a P-51 or Spitfire. The closest thing I've got to 
to that was a AT-6 with an 820hp Pratt and Whitney, but I loved every minute of 
it :-)
