Patricia:

I am wondering if the cylinder may have been marred by rust or by scoring?
Sometimes just rebuilding does not work very well if the cylinder is not
attended to--relined with a brass liner or at the minimum, honed out, which
some listers have found to not be very effective. Are your fittings leaking?
Is the reservoir leaking around the seals? Run your hand around to see if
you can locate the leak.

BTW, although there has been a lot of discussion about the Advance Auto MC
rebuilds leaking, I bought one for $37, installed it, and it has been working
leak free like a champ for about 6 months now.

I DO have a leaking rear wheel cylinder. Bought replacements from Advance
and they turned out to be NEW ITALIAN made beauties. The only piece of crap
is that damned thick "C" clip they supply with it. I fought with it for an
hour, finally bending it to where it would not fit and deciding to get a
proper "C" clip tomorrow to do the job right.
