Hi Bob,

The place on the block near that banjo bolt that normally holds the idiot light
switch or the take off for the oil pressure guage is the same as 1/8" pipe, but
without the tapered threads.  That's why there is always a crush washer used
there.

But with a lot of teflon tape a regular 1/8" pipe fitting will go there and not
leak any oil.  If you were to drill and tap the banjo bolt to 1/8" pipe, you
could put in a conventional American sending unit.  Putting it on the block is
also certainly a do-able thing.
