The chuck is not supposed to have a set screw to hold it to the shaft.  We are
not talking about Chuck Christ, here, by the way.  It's a "morse taper".  Clean
it off real well, both the girly part and the boyey part.  Let dry.  Put a
little chaulk on the shaft and tap the chuck on LIGHTLY.  Having said that, if
those two parts aren't properly machined.....you're screwed.

press didn't help any as chuck refuses to stay attached to the shaft of the
drill press. Strictly a press fit, no set screw, on the POS.
