I recall you saying you had new head studs.
If so, double nut them and torque them down once, this will torque them 
to the block. (before the head goes on)
Once the head is on, torque them in sequence, loosen them in sequence, 
and tighten them again.
Retorque after 500 miles too but don't loosen them this time.
