You two missed the point.

If there is a hunting accident where some southern hillbilly shoots up his
buddy that is not news. Happens all the time, usually when some hillbilly
says, "Hold my beer and watch this ...."

If the VP shoots someone on a hunting trip, that might be new.

But seeing how everyone reacted, the sheriff mostly felt, hey no big deal
happens all the time. The white house figured no big deal, happens all the
time.

So the real news is that the VP is a hillbilly and maybe the pres. is one
also. Now we have proof and that is a story! That's my story and I am stick
to it. I will apologize to everyone that I offended in advance: the red
states, the hunters, blue states, people who have been shot, hillbilly's for
putting the VP in their group, the VP and prez, english teachers for this run
on sentence and poor proof reading, and everyone else except those vegan
freaks.

but
rather why it took so long for that podunk Sheriff to investigate it.

That is ridiculously outrageous police procedure. Anytime there is a
potential for a crime having been committed, they should have started an
immediate investigation. Waiting until the next day gives time for stories
to be worked out and for alcohol or drugs to leave the system.

I'm NOT saying there was anything improper involved on Cheney's part, but
there sure was on the Sheriff's part. If Cheney's advisors had a brain in
their head they would have insisted on an immediate investigation. Now
there are doors left open for criticism and questions that should never
have
been. Cheney's innocence of wrongdoing would best have been served by
getting the truth out right away.

RANT ON! Politics - No LBC

I feel bad that Harry Whittington was shot accidently by the Vice President
and I feel bad that Mr Wittington suffered a heart attack as a result of
the shooting, BUT is this the huge political issue that it is portrayed to
be in the news? It seems to me that this was an accident pure and simple. A
situation that had nothing to due with running the government or national
security. Perhaps if Mr Chenny had been shot, then that news would be of
political import. I really don't need to know the time line of the accident
nor do I think there was a problem that the White House did not tell anyone
  about the shooting "right away."

If your wrench slips and you hurt your thumb and if you wish to tell us
about it on the list, I will feel sorry for you. I don't want to hear about
  it on the National news.

  Am I wrong about this??

  RANT OFF
