Mine worked. I replaced the original starter on my 1966 Sprite with a
gear reduction unit from an Isuzu truck. No issues whatsoever, except I
had to make an indent in the passenger footbox to fit it. I bought the
starter from Autozone and they took the old Lucas starter for the core
deposit.
