For what it's worth. A number of years ago my dad came in to a large  
collection of silver coins. (Paying back a debt). I went through them,  
kept the best a numismatic amateur could choose, and took the the rest  
to a coin dealer. I got paid at the going rate of silver by the ounce.  
Not by the coins values. Was still kinda neat to get a check with 3  
zeros on it ;-) Too bad I had to hand it over :-(

I still have most of the rest in coin books ;-) No idea what they are  
worth tho.
