I always leave the cap on the master (it's vented).  If you leave the cap of=
f you sometimes will get brake fluid splashing out causing a big mess when y=
ou pump hard.  If the cap is plugged your brakes won't work anyways as the v=
ent is essential for proper operation of the master.
