I've got 6" rims on my Spitty, shod with 195 55 VR 13 Pirelli P7's. The
tyres did rub a tiny bit when I first fitted them, but after I got new
springs for the front, that went away. It's pretty easy to get a wide
tyre under there, but the series (in this case 55) needs to be small
enough so you don't completely fill the wheelwell. I know that 175 70 R
13 P4's will rub a little.
Does anyone have any low profile 13" tyres they'd be willing to
sell? I just installed 175 CD carbs on my Spit, and promptly spun the
cords out of the rears. Call it a lack of self control, I was excited.
