Below is a snippit from a press release from the Treasury on the exemption on
road tax

-----------

4. The exemption from VED for 25 years old cars, motorcycles
and motortricycles recognises that very few vehicles reach that
age (around 150,000 currently licensed - less than one per cent of
the licensed population) and that they do little damage to the
road or the environment. The cost of keeping old vehicles
maintained to MOT standards is likely to far outweigh any VED
saving and in many cases, these older vehicles are subject to
mileage restrictions imposed by their insurance policies. These
vehicles will remain subject to the requirements to license
annually, display a VED disc and produce a valid MOT and
certificate of insurance.

Apparently, the new rule is to take effect from 28th Nov - ie. now.

Unfortunately my Vitesse is only 24 years old :-(.
