The last few nights at the shop I have been working on taking a car apart,
rather than putting Killer or the TR3 or the 250 together. The car in
question is the Rust Rocket, a TR4 which may be vaguely remembered by some of
the old time folks on this list. By the way, there are about 425 people on
the real time list, and another 425 on the digest list, if you are curious.
It's a bit sad to see the old beast getting dismantled, but it's for a good
cause. A local fellow is going to use the frame and suspension, plus a few
other of the bits, as the foundation for a special he's building. Don't
know much about his final plans, but if it turns out well, I'll let folks
know.
So, once again I'll don my salesperson hat, and say that some of the stuff
getting removed is actually useable. Anyone need some TR4 doors, or a boot
lid? Those are about the only body parts that are still useable. There is
a reason I called the car the Rust Rocket. If you need some other TR4 bits,
let me know, I may have it. No surrey top or overdrive gearbox, sorry!
