Hello Lister's,

I had purchased a 65 MKII Spitfire three months ago, And all though the
it runs half decent the third cylinder has only 120psi of compression.
For me to do a engine rebuild would not be a problem "I think", Since I have
rebuilt all type's of engines in the past, I have even owned a 74 TR6, But
that was in another life time. Any way what I would like to know from the vast
knowledge of this list is some answers on building up the MKII into a
GT6 rolling chassie with the Spitfire tub and GT6 bonnet. I know that it's
possible to do. I have the option of two GT6's one is a MKI and the other is a
MKIII, Both are in good shape. Here are the questions that I have.

1. Would staying with the MKI be better since the years are closer together.

2. If or when the state of PA. institutes a smog test would it be better to
own the MKI due to the emission controls on the MKIII.

3. I have heard that the rear suspension on the MKIII is better then the MKI.

Any input into this conversion from anyone who has done this or who knows
about
it would be greatly appreciated. You could e-mail direct if you would like, So
as not to burden the other lister's. I would also like to thank Mark for his
great sacrifice in keeping this list up and running.

                          Thanks in Advance,
                          Craig Yeager
