I would be wary of rust showing at tops of headlights and at taillights.  
When I had my 71 TR-6 it was adaily driver and in ,77, although the paint 
was faded, it still looked good until a friend was driving it and was in a 
minor accident.  
The car was hit by another on the front bumper, pushing from passenger 
side to drivers side.  This completely destroyed both front fenders which 
had been rusting from the inside but had not bubbled through to the outside.
